Vertical may be a Proptech trailblazer, but our purpose extends far beyond the tools we build. Our success means nothing unless it’s used to life up the communities around us. Our business is built on action and tangible, positive results. We don’t just exist to make your life easier; we’re here to change as many lives as possible.
For us, community isn’t a strapline – it’s our identity. If you’re new here, welcome to the Vertical community!
Our commitment to the community
We believe in meaningful change begins with small, intentional actions. One step becomes a ripple. A ripple becomes an impact. And when people move together, change becomes unstoppable. That’s why we support communities across Birmingham and the wider UK in areas including:
Social Welfare: Charities that focus on helping vulnerable individuals gain access to and benefit from life-changing care.
Animal Welfare: Rescues or shelters who specialize in the care, fostering, and rehoming of animals.
Community Support: Organizations specifically designed to help local communities thrive and bring prosperity to worthy causes.
Youth Resources: Facilities that enhance the quality of life for young people, who may not otherwise have access to support systems.
We back organisations that make a genuine, measurable difference – and help ensure they have the resources to keep going.
Community in action
Every year, our team tackles the Wolf Run Challenge together – an obstacle course that’s as muddy as its meaningful. Running as a pack, we’ve raised over £329 for Birmingham Dogs Home, supporting their mission to care for and rehome vulnerable animals.
We also regularly hold charity golf days that turn business networking into a force for good. Our latest recent event raised money SIFA Fireside, helping them to continue providing essential care for those experiencing homelessness.
As Vertical began in Birmingham, we take a lot of pride in helping and championing our local communities. We became patrons of Love Brum because of that core company value. Through our patronage, we supported Fat Fluffs; our team volunteered to weigh and feed the resident rabbits and clean enclosures. Love Brum also connected us with children’s charity Send Socials, and we provided toys for their annual Santa’s Grotto.
Whilst our heart will always exist in Birmingham, our desire to help people doesn’t stop in our home city. We provided financial support to Wolverhampton based charity The Way Youth Zone, helping them continue to run a wide range of activities for young people in the area. In 2025 our team raised £1,223 for The Way through a sponsored Snowden climb, which was tough but a lot of fun.
Community Highlight
Vertical has a strong, longstanding partnership with Chesterfield FC Community Trust and the connected Chesterfield Football Club. We have sponsored and been involved in the trust’s warm hub since 2022. The trust provides a safe and comfortable space for anyone who needs it, with access to food, drink, showers, toiletries, and laundry facilities. In 2024 we teamed up again in aid of a toy drive, and filled four huge bags of toys, which went on to be distributed to those in need. Vertical will continue to support future efforts, to ensure families have access to necessary and life-changing resources.
